Community organisations delivering projects in the G21 region are invited to apply for the Give Where You Live Foundation’s 2023 Survive and Thrive Grant Round, which opens today and provides grants up to a maximum of $40,000.
The Foundation’s Survive and Thrive grants support people in our community who are experiencing life-inhibiting crisis by supporting their immediate basic needs and building resilience and community connection, as well as prevention and early intervention efforts related to family violence, sexual assault, addition, mental health and family breakdown.
Kerry Farrance, Head of Impact at the Give Where You Live Foundation said the Survive and Thrive grants also look at look at promoting food security in our community to help provide much needed support to food relief agencies across the region.
“We know the increased cost of living is having a significant impact on those most vulnerable in our community, particularly in relation to food security. We encourage food relief agencies in our community, who have faced increased demand to help individual and families to put food on the table, to apply for the Foundation’s 2023 Survive and Thrive grants.”
Funding focuses on five key outcome areas that recognise the need to meet both immediate basic needs so people in our region can survive and build resilience so they can thrive.
Survive:
- Food insecurity – supporting the provision of food relief for people experiencing food insecurity.
- Homelessness – supporting people who are experiencing homelessness
Thrive:
- Prevention and early intervention – supporting prevention and early intervention efforts related to family violence, sexual assault, addiction, mental health, and family breakdown.
- Building resilience – supporting increased capacity and coping strategies to support resilience.
- Community Connections – through promoting community connections and reducing social isolation.
Ms Farrance said the Foundation will be seeking volunteers to join the Community Grant Review Panels to review the 2023 Survive and Thrive Grants.
“Volunteering for the Community Grant Review Panels is a great opportunity for people in the community to learn more about the issues and the organisations creating change in our region and a chance to provide feedback on where community donations are allocated.”
The Foundation invites all people living within the G21 Region to apply for this opportunity.
“Anyone from the community regardless of their qualifications and experience can join us to be a Community Grant Review Panellist,” she added.
Community Grant Review Panellists are required to read 3-4 grant applications and attend a discussion with other panellists to provide feedback on allocating funding to applicants.
