AWA Alliance Bank: helping us to create a fairer G21 community

Corporate Partnerships are a fundamental part of the Give Where You Live Foundation’s success. Thanks to the support of our Corporate Partners, we can continue working to create a fairer G21 community where all people and places thrive.

One of our Platinum Partners, AWA Alliance Bank, has been a long-term supporter of our community and valued partner of the Give Where You Live Foundation.

Gavin Heathcote, CEO, AWA Alliance Bank, said they are committed to making a difference in the communities where they operate.

“As a social enterprise using profit for purpose, our philanthropic partners create long term sustainable change for those suffering the effects of disadvantage in our community.”

Gavin recently joined the Foundation to congratulate 2022 Survive & Thrive grantee, Ocean Mind on their recent grant and thank them for their work in supporting young people in our community.

“AWA has been partnering with Give Where You Live for many years now, and we’re really proud to be able to play a role in contributing to the grant rounds, and to be able to support organisations like Ocean Mind in their ability to make a difference to young people in our community,” said Gavin.

Ocean Mind were granted $30,000 to deliver 15 of their six-week evidence-based therapeutic surf programs designed specifically for young people with disability and those experiencing mental health challenges and social isolation. The Ocean Mind program builds confidence, connection with the community and helps their participants develop new skills and feel a sense of achievement.

“It’s another reason why as an organization we’re invested in improving the wellbeing of our members of the community that we live in, and we’re really proud to be part of this and grateful for the opportunity,” said Gavin.

Not only are AWA Alliance Bank Platinum Partners of the Foundation, but their staff, including Gavin, regularly take part in our Community Grant Review Panels and generously donate a portion of their wage to our Workplace Giving program.

The Foundation is incredibly grateful for our partnership with AWA Alliance Bank and the commitment they show to creating a fairer G21 community.
