Focusing on longer term partnerships with the potential to create transformational change, the Give Where You Live Foundation is proud to support Geelong Foodshare through its Strategic Partnership Grants.
Geelong Foodshare has been granted $40,000 for core operational funding to support the delivery of its strategic plan and strengthen its impact across the region.
As an important part of Geelong’s food security and emergency food relief system, Geelong Foodshare plays a critical role in ensuring people experiencing hardship can access nutritious, culturally appropriate food. The organisation sources and collects food from a range of partners and distributes it through a network of more than 60 frontline charities, while also supporting community members directly through its two social supermarkets.
The Give Where You Live Foundation’s investment recognises the vital role Geelong Foodshare plays in supporting thousands of people across the region and will help strengthen the systems, partnerships and operations needed to meet growing community demand.
The impact of this funding extends across the community. Through Geelong Foodshare’s extensive network, support reaches more than 70 agencies, partners and communities across Greater Geelong, creating a powerful chain of impact that connects food donors, community organisations and people seeking assistance.
