Innovation Fund

Grants through the Innovation Fund will be awarded through insights and initiatives developed through the Give Where You Live Foundation’s Social Innovation Lab.

Designed to address the most difficult social and economic challenges facing our community, our first Social Innovation Lab is focusing on homelessness challenges, taking forward the findings and recommendations from the Home Truths report.

Applications for funding through the Innovation Fund are by invitation only.

Through the Social Innovation Lab Homelessness co-design process in 2026, two projects have been selected for funding;

The Power in You Project: Throughcare Pathway Pilot Program – $100,000

The Power in You Project will deliver a regional Throughcare Pathway pilot supporting individuals exiting custody who are at risk homelessness, unemployment and repeat justice system involvement. The model focuses on coordinated, lived experience-led support beginning prior to release and continuing through reintegration into the community.

Meli: The Geelong Project – $50,000

Meli’s The Geelong Project will develop a youth homelessness prevention initiative focused on the concept of ‘belonging before crisis.’ The project seeks to strengthen early intervention responses for young people at risk of homelessness by exploring belonging and connection as key protective factors within school communities.
