Your donations at Work

Your donations have enabled Give Where You Live to provide $30,000 towards Back to Back Theatre’s community programs. The art and performance based programs aim to increase social inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities living in Geelong. The programs provide a learning environment where participants can push their personal and creative boundaries and express their artistic voice to Geelong audiences. Members of the programs benefit from increased self-esteem and community connectivity and the broader Geelong community benefits from the valued contributions the participants make to our city’s cultural landscape.

Adam, who is a participant in a number of Back to Back Theatre’s community programs explains “I’ve learnt that it’s okay to share my feelings as strange as they may be.” Rose, who joined Back to Back Theatre’s THEATRE OF SPEED program in 2014 says “Since my beginning I started something here, something new, all of us work as a team…this is my second family.”

Last year, the funds Give Where You Live dedicated to Back to Back Theatre made it possible for 1,175 community participants like Adam and Rose to access 64 community workshops.
