dal Café lend a hand

Your donations to Give Where You Live help Corio Bay Innovators (dal Café) to provide training and employment opportunities in the hospitality industry for people with special needs. Give Where You Live were thrilled to be able to work directly with dal staff during the recent Feed Geelong Appeal and to be part of providing such opportunities. dal generously provided the skills of employee Alan to help serve at the Feed Geelong Soup Kitchen that ran weekly in the Little Malop Street Mall. 

“When Alan was asked if he would like to join Melinda, dal’s Café Manager, in the Mall serving soup he grinned from ear to ear, he was very proud to represent dal and participate in this worthy event” said Marie Kuchenmeister, Executive Director dal Café. Alan greeted each customer with an infectious smile, cleared tables with great speed and wiped them down with care and detail. A quick wave and “have a great afternoon” was all part of the service Alan happily provided to the customers.
