The Give Where You Live Foundation is calling on the whole community to support the 2026 Feed Geelong Appeal to help put healthy food on the table for those who need it most from 12 – 18 October.
The Foundation have just released the latest Food for Thought research report which found that 72% of local food relief organisations reported demand for food support had increased over the previous 12 months.
Give Where You Live Foundation CEO, Zac Lewis noted the importance of the Feed Geelong Appeal in addressing the level of need for food relief across Geelong.
“With the rising cost of living pushing so many in our community to seek support, we’re raising vital funds through this year’s Feed Geelong Appeal to help address food insecurity in the region. Now more than ever we need the full support of our community to help make sure nobody goes hungry.
“We know that people across the region are experiencing increased levels of food insecurity across a broad cross section of the community. There’s increasing numbers of working households and middle income families seeking assistance. Making a donation during the Feed Geelong Appeal will help fund emergency relief programs across the region that support families doing it tough put food on the table.”
As little as a $25 donation to the Feed Geelong Appeal can fill a trolley for a local family. Through the Foundation’s Community Choice voucher initiative, an emergency relief voucher program providing support for people experiencing financial crisis in our region, each $25 voucher can be redeemed at Geelong Foodshare to provide up to $230 in groceries at their social supermarkets.
Supporting the 2026 Feed Geelong Appeal are several corporate partners who have joined the Foundation in helping to feed Geelong.
