The Give Where You Live Foundation is asking the Geelong community to dig deep and get behind its 2023 Give Geelong Appeal.
Running from 17 – 24 March 2023, the Give Geelong Appeal will assist the Give Where You Live Foundation in supporting local education and employment programs, as well as supporting people in our community who are experiencing life-inhibiting crisis to help meet their basic needs.
Give Where You Live Foundation Acting CEO, Meg Price said the Foundation was looking forward to seeing the community get behind the Appeal to help support those most in need.
“We’re working hard to create a fairer, more equitable Geelong, where all people and places thrive and we can only do that with the support of our community. The Give Geelong Appeal is a chance for the people of Geelong to come together and help raise funds for our community.”
“Your donation to the Give Geelong Appeal will have an immediate and local impact. It will support people in our community facing long-term unemployment, help to improve educational outcomes for children, help people facing homelessness and support families struggling to meet their basic needs, including food insecurity. ”
“The need in our community continues to increase. Supporting the Give Geelong Appeal will help us to meet the 57% of requests we are currently unable to fund,” Meg Price said.
There are three ways the community can get involved and support the Give Geelong Appeal:
- Footy Colours Day on Friday 17 March. Appeal ambassadors Tom, Lingy and Loggy from K Rock 95.5 are encouraging Geelong to kick goals for our community by wearing your footy colours and donating to the Give Where You Live Foundation. Workplaces, sports clubs, friendship groups and schools are all encouraged to participate.
- Give Geelong Breakfast on Thursday 23 March. 7am – 9am in the President’s Room at GMHBA Stadium. Tickets available from givewhereyoulive.com.au/events Hear from award winning author and founder of ‘I Quit Sugar’, Sarah Wilson.
- Make a donation to the Give Geelong Appeal givewhereyoulive.com.au
