The Foundation’s Feed Geelong Appeal launched on Monday 10 October and this week we are calling on the community to help us fight hunger in our community.
53,000 families and individuals in the Geelong region need food support and about 16,000 of those people will go without a meal at least one day per week.*
2022 has been a tough year for our community. As the cost of living continues to rise, so too does the number of people in our community reaching out to food relief agencies for support.
We’re doing everything we can to support the food relief agencies across our region, but this year we’ve only been able to meet 65% of local requests for food vouchers.
The Feed Geelong Appeal is your opportunity to help provide much-needed support to food relief agencies across the region.

Meet Jamie-Lee.
Jamie-Lee and her partner became homeless during COVID-19. They have been accessing support from the Geelong Food Relief Centre for around five months which she says has changed her life.
“We’ve been able to pay bills with our income, knowing that we can still get food and provide for our kids and our family and feed ourselves at the same time. It’s a massive, massive relief and difference for us.”
After Jamie-Lee and her partner were forced to live in their car and survive on bread, Jamie-Lee says that without support like this her life would look a lot different.
“We’re able to get fruit and vegetables and cooked meals and still be able to eat healthily and give ourselves the nutrients that we need without having to go for the fast-food options or the 2-minute noodles every night.”
