The Give Where You Live Foundation is proud to announce we have been awarded Australian Community Philanthropy’s 2017 Community Foundation Award.
Recognising community foundations that are enabling and creating impact, positive change and opportunities in their community over the past twelve months.
Award recipients are recognised as leaders who are inspiring examples of the Community Foundation sector in Australia. In particular the award recognised our work on the GROW (G21 Region Opportunities for Work) initiative.
Five years ago, the Give Where You Live Foundation began a journey to rethink its role in the Geelong/G21 community and its ability to make a difference. In a bold move the Foundation engaged in a partnership with the G21 – Geelong Region Alliance to develop and implement an innovative initiative to impact disadvantage in the region by focusing on jobs. The result has been the Foundation’s commitment of its Social, Moral, Intellectual, Reputational and Financial Capital over at least 10 years to what we now know as the GROW Initiative.
