For over 60 years Workplace Giving has been the backbone of the Give Where You Live Foundation’s fundraising efforts; enabling thousands of local employees to donate to the Foundation, in turn helping those most in need in our community.
During the month, we’re celebrating the impact that Workplace Giving has had on our community, and how our partner workplaces are using their Workplace Giving programs to engage employees and create a community minded culture in their organisations, as well as helping those most in need.
What is Workplace Giving?
Workplace Giving is a donation system that allows employees to contribute a small set amount of their pre-tax salary to a charity and receive the tax benefit straight away rather than waiting until the end of financial year.
From as little as $5 or $10 from each pay, you can join thousands of Geelong/G21 regional employees who donate to the Give Where You Live Foundation’s Workplace Giving Program. Close to $900,000 has been raised over the past year to support our community’s most vulnerable people.
Many workplaces amplify their employee’s donations by matching the donations.
Establishing a Workplace Giving Program for the Give Where You Live Foundation in your organisation allows your employees to engage with our community and give back in an effective and strategic way.
It’s easy and free to set up. We work directly with your payroll department to establish the program, creating a program that best suits you.

- Australians donate on average $600 a year or $11.50 per week via Workplace Giving
- 80% said companies with a Workplace Giving Program are better places to work and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the community
- 81% said company matching is a critical motivator to give
