The Give Where You Live Foundation is celebrating a renewed commitment from Novotel Geelong, with the two organisations proud to announce a new three-year strategic partnership to help create a fairer Geelong community.
With a shared commitment to the local community, the partnership aims to make a real difference to those most in need across the Geelong region, particularly as rising cost of living pressures continue to push more people towards food insecurity and homelessness.
A long-time partner, Novotel Geelong will become the Foundation’s exclusive hotel partner, supporting its work through a range of fundraising events and activities.
Give Where You Live Foundation CEO, Zac Lewis said the growing pressures facing the community highlight the important role local businesses like Novotel Geelong can play in creating positive change.
“We’re delighted to strengthen our partnership with Novotel Geelong and work together to drive meaningful change through a range of initiatives that raise vital funds to support the Foundation’s work across the Geelong region.”
“At a time when more people than ever are seeking support, partnerships like this are critical in helping us respond to growing community need and ensure more people can access the support they need.”
Scott Bear, General Manager of Novotel Geelong, said the hotel was proud to continue its long standing support of the Foundation and its work across the region.
“Novotel Geelong is excited to be the exclusive hotel partner of Give Where You Live, a foundation we have been working with for many years.”
“The work that Give Where You Live does across the Greater Geelong and Bellarine Region is a major reason why we are pleased to partner with them to assist in driving social change.”
“The Foundation’s commitment to food security, homelessness assistance and inclusive employment aligns with Novotel Geelong’s values of people, passion and integrity whilst providing the opportunity for our team to work for something greater than themselves. We are looking forward to continuing to raise awareness and funds in this space to ensure everyone across our community receives the assistance they need.”
With the backing of the ERDI Foundation and ERDI group, owners of Novotel Geelong, the ERDI Foundation will donate $1 for every dollar raised by the hotel, strengthening the collective impact of the partnership and helping to support more people across the Geelong region.
As part of its fundraising efforts, Novotel Geelong will host a Trivia Night in the Peninsula Room at the waterfront hotel on Thursday 18 June from 6pm. Tickets are $50pp and include an arrival drink and shared food, with auction items and raffle prizes to be won. Tickets can be purchased from www.novotelgeelong.com.au/special-offers/TriviaNight
Through the partnership, Scott Bear is also an official ambassador for the Give Where You Live Foundation as part of the inaugural Geelong Running Festival and will take on the marathon event in September, helping to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation’s work in the community.
