Record Breaking 10th Anniversary Trek

Kids+ and The Give Where You Live Foundation are delighted to report that the 2025 Surf Coast Trek has been an incredible success, raising $252,000 (so far) that will be shared equally between
both foundations, with the appeal continuing.

The Surf Coast Trek is a challenging and rewarding fundraising event, that provides a unique opportunity for participants to walk 40km or 26km, taking in the stunning scenery of the pristine
Surf Coast of Victoria while supporting two, important local not-for-profit organisations. The annual event held on Saturday 5 April, celebrated its 10th anniversary year and attracted
record numbers, with over 1300 people taking part.

The trekking journey, commencing in Anglesea with a moving Welcome to Country ceremony, took trekkers on an exploration through Anglesea, across picturesque landscapes encapsulating sandy beaches, abundant bushland and sweeping ocean views.

Local musicians entertained and kept the energy high, as trekkers made their way to finish line in Torquay, where they were joined by families participating in the Kids+ Dash and supportive loved
ones cheering them on. Perfect weather, lively music, delicious food and festivities made for an amazing atmosphere and wonderful celebration of shared experience and community spirit that
ensured the 10th anniversary Surf Coast Trek was the best yet!

Zac Lewis, CEO of Give Where You Live, who completed the Trek for the first time this year, said the funds raised will support the Foundation’s vital work across food security, homelessness,
and inclusive employment in the Geelong region.
“Walking the Surf Coast Trek for the first time—especially in its 10th year—was an incredible experience. This event is a real testament to what can be achieved when people come together
for a common cause. At the Give Where You Live Foundation, we’re working to build a fairer, more equitable Geelong, and that’s only possible thanks to the incredible support of our community. The efforts of our 2025 Surf Coast Trekkers will enable the Foundation to support those most in need in our community. With the cost of living continuing to rise, more individuals and families are
experiencing unemployment, homelessness, and food insecurity. Funds raised from this year’s Trek will make a meaningful and lasting difference to those doing it tough in our community.”

Shaun Cannon, CEO of Kids+ said, “What a fantastic event the 2025 Surf Coast Trek has been: celebrating our 10th anniversary with record numbers, perfect weather, and the liveliest finish line we’ve seen. Kids+ would like to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in the event. Funds raised will support local families of premature babies needing additional medical support through our Parent Infant Program (PIP).”
