Local organisations united in support of the Voice Referendum

A group of Geelong businesses and community organisations have joined forces to declare support of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

Led by the Give Where You Live Foundation, the group (listed below) have come together to support the constitutional change, making a commitment to share information and encourage the community to learn and engage with the issue in a meaningful and respectful way.

Bill Mithen, CEO, Give Where You Live Foundation, said the Foundation has a proud history of working towards reconciliation, standing together with our First Nations people, and bringing the community together.

“We recognise that only individuals are able to vote in the referendum, however as individual organisations each of us stands by The Uluru Statement from the Heart that asks all Australians to walk together, to build a better future by establishing a First Nations Voice to Parliament.”

Mr Mithen added, “The group of organisations believes a successful referendum will enable us to listen and learn from First Nations voices and is as an important step towards creating a fairer community and more equitable future for our First Nations people.”
