Please support our 2022 Christmas Appeal

While Christmas is traditionally a time of joy for many of us, unfortunately for vulnerable individuals, children and families in our community who are facing homelessness, food insecurity, loneliness and isolation, it can be one of the most difficult times of the year.

For families who are facing hardship or living on low incomes and struggling to afford their basic needs, the Christmas period can add significant stress to existing financial pressures.

The Foundation’s 2022 Christmas Appeal aims to raise funds to help make the new year a little brighter for someone in need in our community.

Funds raised will help the Foundation provide more support to organisations delivering programs to assist those most in need in our community over the festive season and into 2023.

Your donation will help make the new year a little brighter for someone in need!

Thanks to your support, this year the Bellarine Living & Learning Centre received a $30,000 grant to fund their food security project where participants can access food, pantry and personal items at a weekly foodbank market day.

With many people in our community facing financial stress over Christmas, they are providing vital support for people in our community worried affording essentials such as food, rent and bills.

While Christmas can be financially challenging for some, it can also be a lonely time for others. The Bellarine Living & Learning Centre provide the community with opportunities to connect through a diverse range of services and activities including the Foodbank service.

Donation’s will help families like Elijah’s*

Elijah’s mum Jane, who has been accessing the Bellarine Living & Learning Centre Foodbank, has shared that due to the cost of diesel and interest rates going up, they can no longer afford to buy everything they need.

“I go to work, but my income is quite low, so it doesn’t cover the cost of everything. There are things here that help. It’s a way to access some of the food that I’d have to wait long to get, like apples.”
