In a philanthropic response to support our community’s most vulnerable people, today we have issued 37 community grants totaling just over $916,600. These grants are part of a wider 2020 contribution of $1.5 million which includes Emergency Grants issued in April, and our Direct Assistance Voucher Program which runs throughout the year.
Through the lens of the Covid19 crisis and its effects across our region, we been responsive and adapted to meet the current changes and needs of our community partners, bringing the annual grant round forward by two months.
These Community Grants recognise the important role that the community sector (across our region) plays in delivering programs and services to those who are most vulnerable, and will fund their programs and services in line with our key program areas: education, employment, and life crisis (Live & Learn, Live & Earn and Survive & Thrive).
