Give Where You Live would like to extend their congratulations and thanks to the Geelong Grammar School Lorne 160 team for raising an incredible $60,000 towards the Feed Geelong Appeal.
The group of twenty year 11 Geelong Grammar students completed the annual Lorne 160 run and in the processes raised a record amount for the event which has been running since 1991.
“I think we’ve been very fortunate this year to sponsor a very good cause and to raise more money than any Lorne 160 group has so far” Harry Osti commenting on behalf the group.
The run saw the group depart Geelong Grammar School in Corio at midnight running to Lorne and back rotating runners every 5km to make sure they made it to the finish line as a group.
This incredible effort saw every member running 40km in total however Harry assures that it’s not just about the physical effort of running “The whole point of it is about the fundraising not just about the run”.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with this phenomenal effort by the group of young students. They are helping Geelong’s most vulnerable not only now but into the future and are setting a great example of how young people in our community can become involved in philanthropy” Bill Mithen CEO Give Where You Live said.
