The Shell Refinery Rowing Crew has officially become Santa Causes. Yes that’s right Give Where You Live Santa Causes. The crew have been hard at work fundraising for the Give Where You Live over the past few months with their Trivia evening and selling chocolates around the refinery and as a result were able to make a $5,500 donation to the Give Where You Live Santa Cause Appeal.
The Santa Cause Appeal supports so many causes in Geelong and will help over 25,000 people in our region to have a happier 2014. This donation from the Shell Rowing Crew and ultimately the Shell staff will assist families doing it tough, isolated elderly, people living with a disability, helping young people find their way in school and within their community, emergency food relieve, toys and resources for children with special needs and helping those experiencing loneliness and depression just to name a few causes the Santa Cause Appeal will assist.
Bill Mithen CEO of Give Where You Live (and head Christmas Elf) said “The donation of $5,500 from the Shell crew is phenomenal; an amazing amount of money has been raised by the Shell staff which is a testament to their commitment to the Geelong community. It is the single largest donation to the Appeal and will go such a long way to help experiencing disadvantage to have a much happier 2014.
