Last week the Give Where You Live Foundation held our 2022 Feed Geelong Appeal which raises vital funds to support food relief agencies across our region.
We are thrilled to announce the appeal raised almost $70,000 to help fight hunger in the Geelong community.
Access to healthy, fresh, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food is one of our most basic human rights. However, since 2020, there has been a 24% increase in demand from local support agencies for voucher assistance.
With demand for food relief continuing to increase, The Give Where You Live Foundation, CEO, Bill Mithen said he was very grateful for the community generosity, which will help provide much-needed support to food relief agencies across the region.

“Thank you to everyone who supported the 2022 Feed Geelong Appeal. We’re thrilled to share it raised almost $70,000 to support food relief agencies across the region,” Bill said.
“The Feed Geelong Appeal provides the opportunity for everyone to help make sure nobody in our community goes hungry. The funds raised will stay in the G21 region to support families and individuals who need help to put food on the table.”
Bill said the support of the community is vital in helping address food insecurity in the G21 region and every donation would help provide access to food for someone in need.
“We can’t undertake the work we do without the generous support of our community. This includes more than 40 local businesses and their employees who participated in Brown Paper Bag Day and donated their lunch or coffee money on Friday 14 October. It also included 8-year-old Elena who instead of using her Tooth Fairy money to buy a toy or something for herself, donated it to the Feed Geelong Appeal.”
