GROW G21: Heading in a new and exciting direction

The Give Where You Live Foundation is very excited to announce that it has been selected as the new Social Enterprise Network of Victoria (SENVIC) Barwon South West Local Lead.

SENVIC’S purpose is to grow a thriving social enterprise sector in Victoria, in part through funding regional organisations to connect and support local social enterprises.

As a SENVIC Barwon South West Local Lead, the Foundation through the GROW team will be holding networking and learning opportunities to connect and support social enterprises to deliver on their social purpose.

This will contribute to SENVIC’s vision for a just, inclusive and sustainable society, along with the Give Where You Live Foundation’s strategy to build community assets and a fairer community across the G21 region.

Meg Price, Head of GROW, said the Foundation was excited to be building on the GROW G21 initiative as the SENVIC Barwon South West Local lead.

“The Foundation is looking forward to further strengthening our support for local social enterprises, and contributing to SENVIC’s vision, through building and supporting a connected community of social enterprises in the Barwon South West region.”

“Supporting social enterprises with learning and networking opportunities through the new SENVIC contract will further enhance current work under the Foundation’s GROW initiative – supporting businesses and the community services, training and employment sectors to address long-term unemployment and improve the social and economic prosperity of our region through social procurement,” Meg said.

The Foundation recently supported the SENVIC and Social Traders ‘Geelong Social Enterprise Showcase’, bringing together local social enterprises and industry buyers for a networking event in May. The event included inspiring presentations from GROW Signatories, genU and Good Cycles, about the positive social outcomes for our community achieved through social procurement and social enterprises working in our region.
