Become A Community Grant Review Panellist

For over 60 years the Give Where You Live Foundation has been making grants to assist individuals in the Geelong region to reach their full potential by overcoming health, education and/or income disadvantage. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability and community involvement, the Give Where You Live Foundation invites community members from all walks of life to participate in our Grant Review Panel process.

Reviewers are asked to read 3-5 Grant Applications and to provide feedback on those applications via a grant review form. In addition to reading and reviewing applications, reviewers participate in an Orientation Session (before they read and review the applications) and a Panel Discussion Session (after they have read and reviewed the applications).

Below are the dates related to our 2018 Community Grant Review Panel Process:

April 30, May 1-3
Attend an Orientation Session All reviewers must participate in an orientation session. These sessions will provide background information as well as specific details related to the review process that will assist you in successfully completing your role. Orientation Sessions will be offered 5:30-6:30pm and 7:00-8:00pm on Monday, 30 April, Tuesday 1 May, Wednesday 2 May and Thursday 3 May. We are also offering one lunch time Orientation Session on Wednesday 2 May from 12:30-1:30pm. Note: you only need to attend one session and will have any opportunity to RSVP for your preferred date/time.
May 7-27
Read and Review Assigned Applications Reviewers will be provided 3-5 Grant Applications to read and assess. Reviewers must score and provide written feedback on each application read via a Grant Review Sheet. All materials are provided via DropBox.
May 28 – 31 Participate in a Panel Discussion Session Reviewers are highly encourage to participate in discussions sessions with other members of their panel (reviewers who have read and assessed the same applications). These sessions provide an opportunity to discuss the applications and your feedback with your other panel members. Discussion sessions will held at 5:15-6:15pm and 6:45-7:45pm on Monday, 28 May, Tuesday 29 May, Wednesday 30 May and Thursday 31 May. Note: you only need attend one one-hour session on these dates depending on the day/time assigned to your panel.
June 1 Complete and Return Grant Review Sheets Post the discussion session review panellist will have an opportunity to complete or update their Review sheets. All review sheets should be completed and submitted by COB Friday, 1 June


To become a grant review panellist please download and review the 2018 Community Grant Review Panel Information Sheet and Position Description – Community Grant Review Panellist and complete the online interest form by Friday, 13 April.

Confirmation of participation will be made no later than Tuesday, 17 April.
