Supporting vulnerable students transitioning through school

EdConnect Australia trains, supports, and places volunteers in schools across our local region to improve the lives of vulnerable students.

We are proud to welcome EdConnect Australia as a presenting organisation at Pitch Up Geelong where representative Danie McNeil will pitch to seek funds to introduce specialist mentors to walk alongside students in the Geelong and Surf Coast region as they prepare to transition from grade 6 to year 7. Many of these students have been left extremely vulnerable in the wake of the Covid remote learning experience.
Presenter, Danie has worked in senior management roles within the ‘For Purpose’ sector for the past 15 years and is passionate about making a difference and focusing on the ‘why’ of the organisation. Danie strongly believes that through sharing stories, highlighting the wins, explaining the challenges, there is greater understanding, compassion, and willingness to stand up and make a difference.
Pitch Up Geelong is your chance to support the important work of EdConnect Australia and your donations on the night will have double the impact, with every donation matched by our Matching Funding Partners Gforce Employment Solutions, Erdi Foundation, and the Anthony Costa Foundation.
You will also have the opportunity to support local education programs from Strong Brother Strong Sister and Geelong Youth Engagement.
We invite you to join us on Thursday 18 March virtually (via zoom) and you can register online here https://givewhereyoulive.secure.force.com/…/pitchupgeel…
We do have a very limited number of seats available to join us live on the night at the
Geelong Arts Centre.  Please email us here if you would like to register to attend in person. Or if you would like to financially support Pitch Up Geelong but are unable to attend the evening.
