Providing a temporary home in order to survive

Through your donations Samaritan House Geelong are addressing homelessness in our region by providing overnight crisis accommodation and ongoing support for homeless men aged over 18 years.

A $30,000 grant from the Give Where You Live Foundation allows Samaritan House Geelong to provide a temporary home and help set these men on a new path. Most find stable accommodation and jobs with fewer than 30% returning to couch surfing or the streets.

Running for 5 years, this crisis accommodation relies on volunteers to assist not only in the household chores of cooking and cleaning, but also provide an ear to listen and create a safe space for the men to feel welcomed.

We are constantly heartened by the number of our guests who manage to use their time at Samaritan House as a catalyst for turning their lives around.

Thank you to the people of Geelong! Thank you to the sponsors and donors to the Give Where You Live Foundation,” says one Samaritan House team member.
