Since 1966, businesses and their employees have supported our Loaned Executive Program. In 2013, a collection of committed individuals will be nominated by their businesses to promote Workplace Giving in workplaces around Geelong.

What is a Loaned Executive?

A Loaned Executive (LEX) is any employee from any Geelong business who is 'loaned' by his/her employer to Give Where You Live for a three month campaign. Following an initial three days of training, it is expected that the time commitment of these LEXs will be approximately 3-4 hours per week for 13 weeks. 

The nominated employee can be from any department and from any level within the company. Previous LEXs have been mechanics, accountants, lawyers, production workers, knifehands, company directors - you name it.

LEXs are allocated a small number of companies, including their own. Their role is to work with these companies to develop strategies which will enhance Give Where You Live's profile within the workplace. This may include presentations to employee groups, updating posters/newsletters, etc. and thanking current contributors. These presentations provide an opportunity for others to participated in Workplace Giving.

Loaned Executives support Give Where You Live's campaign between July and September each year, with applications opening late May.

What can I expect as a Loaned Executive?

Since 2001, Give Where You Live has been fortunate to have the support and sponsorship of The Gordon for the Loaned Executive Program.  The Gordon delivers accredited training to the team of Loaned Executives, developing great skills in Presentation, Negotiation, Time Management and Selling techniques.  This level of sponsorship ensures that we are able to deliver this quality program at minimum cost and develop skills in the participants which are useful back in their workplace.
